John Mayer Tour Dates:
Though often appearing in tabloids on a regular basis (because of the string of gorgeous ladies he partners up with), John Mayer should be noted far more for his amazing musical talent. Born in 1977, Mayer was enjoying total commercial success around the age of 26 when his award winning album "Room for Squares" was released. From that time onward every single album has received critical praise and enjoyed commercial success.
It doesn't hurt the talented musician's career that he is considered to be so incredibly handsome and attractive, however, it isn't his appealing face that nabbed him Grammy Awards and nominations from 2003 and onward.
Until health problems derailed him, Mayer had done frequent tours all over the world, and constantly adjusted his musical style. With his John Mayer Trio he did a small club tour, but the group also opened for the Rolling Stones as well. He has indicated that he wanted to get away from his acoustic leanings during an interview with journalist Corey Moss in 2005, and he held true to that statement.
By the release of his third album, it was clear that he was leaning more towards blues than the softer pop that had brought him into the mainstream, and that style continued to evolve over time. His fourth album debuted at the top of the charts but was overshadowed by his controversial comments in several interviews at the time. Mayer faded a bit from the spotlight for a time but was back in action by 2011. This was when his album, "Born and Raised" appeared, and when his throat condition put a stop to any tours for a while. He kept busy appearing on other artist's albums until he could get back on the road in 2013.
Mayer is a unique figure active in all kinds of social action campaigns and charities. He is a frequent contributor to Esquire magazine, an occasional standup comic, and will periodically write for other musicians. He is a true Renaissance man that has developed a massive global following.
