The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Information and Schedule

Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Seating Chart View

The second most heavily used amphitheater in the world, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is located in The Woodlands, TX (just outside of Houston) and is home to a mixed bag of shows that include contemporary artists in addition to performing arts performances. In fact, its opening weekend in 1990 featured shows by Frank Sinatra, the Houston Symphony and country stars Clint Black and Alabama.

It has expanded since its founding and is now able to hold crowds of up to 16,500, with more than three thousand of them beneath the nine-peaked rooftop of the recently restored main stage. An expansive lawn slopes towards the stage and features enormous video displays and enhanced sound.

With a season that runs from March through December, it is a main destination just outside of Houston. As part of a master planned community, it is surrounded by recreation, parks, venues and over 200 miles of hiking and biking trails. The grounds of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion also have sculpture gardens and art installations to enjoy.

There is free parking as well as more convenient paid lots, and a five story paid parking garage on the premises. There are north and south plazas, all equipped with a wonderful array of concessions offering many kinds of foods and drinks, and there is the Woodforest Bank Club with private facilities.

There is a no-bag policy in place and guests cannot bring aerosol cans, alcohol, bottles, computer or electronics gear, coolers, laser pointers, chairs higher than 9", pets (except service animals), professional cameras, umbrellas, video or audio recorders, strollers, weapons, video and removable lens cameras into the site.

Because the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is in a large community, there are several premium hotels and accommodations available within one or two miles of the site.
