Baltimore Orioles Tickets

The Baltimore Orioles play their home games at Oriole Park located at Camden Yards. This ballpark is characterized by naturally grown grass and it was built in 1992. The home turf of the Orioles is scenic and beautiful and is located at 333 West Camden Street near downtown Baltimore. It’s just minutes away from other interesting destinations in this city such as Inner Harbor, museums, restaurants and much more. Oriole Park is not just a baseball stadium; it also serves as a tourist attraction to the local tourists. The management of Orioles Park offers tours of the park.

Baltimore is not new to major sports such as baseball. In fact, baseball history in this city can be traced back to over 125 years ago. The first professional baseball title for the Baltimore Orioles was achieved in 1894, but this team moved to New York, and is now known as the NY Yankees. One of the greatest players to ever play in baseball, Babe Ruth, hailed from Baltimore (born in 1895) and played for the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles was then a minor league affiliate of the Red Sox (playing for the major league). Ruth played for the Orioles for only 5 months because the Red Sox got his contract to play in the Major League.

Today’s Baltimore baseball team is not the one that started in the city. They are from the struggling St. Louis Browns which  moved to the city in 1953. The team only used the Baltimore Orioles name in Major League Baseball. Although they performed lackluster baseball, they definitely attracted baseball fans. The success of the Orioles in the league started in the late 1950s. By 1966, the Orioles won the World Series by defeating  the Los Angeles Dodgers in a sweep. Another World Series title came in 1970 and the most recent was in 1983. They have won the World Series 3 times, currently have nine Eastern Division titles under their belt and seven AL pennants.
